Thank you! It is very useful, and it doesn't matter in the language that you are writing, it works even for letters in Russian

Enjoy your trip! Thank you for the timely editing reminders. Very useful as usual!

Hi Elena,

I'm glad to know that the tips work well in Russian too.

Pamela, thanks for the good wishes!

Thank you. This is interesting and very helpful. No offense to you but one of your sentences

(In our scenario, a first step would be to find out what your supervisor thinks the document needs to be a final product.)

--- is it missing a word, perhaps "as"? For example, "to be as a final product".

With kind regards, rodm

Hi Rod,

Interesting suggestion! My wording communicates what I intended: "what the document needs [in order] to be a final product." For example, what needs to be added to it?

The wording you suggest communicates something different: As a final product, what does the document need to be?

Hi Lynn

Thank you for the clarification! I just wasn't seeing it that way, my bad. With your explanation, now we see it as...

(In our scenario, a first step would be to find out what your supervisor thinks the document requires to become a final product.)

Now it makes sense in my muddled mind somehow. My confusion was partly stuck on the two slightly different meanings of the word "be" used in the same sentence.

Please accept my apologies and thank you for your kind explanation.

Hi Rod,

Thanks for your gracious response. We both learned something from your original comment.

Great tips and not only for beginners. I like how you transform the long sentence into three smaller. And thanks for reminding some main points in editing texts.

Olivia, you are welcome.

It's been a long time since you last posted or wrote anything... Hope you're alright! :)

Hi Deborah,

Thank you so much for your kind comment! I was traveling for six weeks. But when I came home, I didn't feel great for several weeks. Now I am finally back to myself and will post something soon.
